Getting in Shape

Therese finished her work in time for us to be able to do a couple of short training trips.

On Friday, Sept 5, we did a 2.5-hr hike to the summit of Mt. Tamany (1542 ft), taking in lovely views of the Delaware Water Gap.

(Apparently, we're a bit out of shape after several weeks tied to our desks.)

On our way back down, taking a less steep route, we encountered a black bear foraging close to the trail (see him in the photo below) and later spotted a second one a bit farther off.

Then, this morning (Sept. 6), we did a 3-hr (8 mile) canoe trip down a foggy and (eventually) rainy Delaware River, spotting two bald eagles in different locations, an Osprey couple, two swimming cormorants (?), and two blue herons, one of whom flew regally up the river and over us. (Sorry, no pictures, as we were reluctant to get our camera wet.)

We're now packing, while the rain from Hurricane Hannah falls.
